Besides baseball, the main things I have been looking forward to about my St. Louis visit is doing an Arch tour and BBQ.
My hotel room has a view of the arch that is bomb, but the tickets to go up in the Arch are sold out for the day. This means that tomorrow I will be waking up at 7:30AM to get a same day ticket. Because I could not do the elevator ride, I instead went to a famous STL BBQ place–Bogart’s.
My ex used to always say “I’ve had better” when we would discuss food and I cannot think of a more appropriate way to sum up my experience at Bogart’s. It was just okay. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. There was nothing wrong with it, it just didn’t blow my mind.
For my meat, I got a half slab of ribs and some brisket. My two sides were baked beans and “fire and ice” pickles. The brisket was not my fav. It was moist but bland. The ribs were okay, and the sauces were just meh. I liked the Pineapple Express sauce most.
My baked beans were decent, in fact, they probably were the highlight of my meal. The pickles were kind of nasty. Nothing was exceptional and nothing was horrible. Overall, I left unimpressed. All for the low (gasp) price of $26+$8 for the uber. Pics below:
